Subjective indicators and psychological predictors of Quality of life

The aim of the project is development, operationalization and empirical approbation of an interdisciplinary model of life quality structure based on theoretical synthesis as well as comparative analysis (both theoretical and empirical ones) of psychological measures of the quality of life and well-being as complex dependent variables characterizing integral life evaluation, and the identification of its personality predictors.

The tasks of integration and the development of such model are relevant to the tasks strived by the International Society for Quality of Life Studies (ISQOLS) and, to a lesser extent, the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) .

An approach for understanding the quality of life term and its diagnostics will be offered for the first time. This approach integrates achievements in socioeconomic and clinical psychology-based approaches. An empirical comparison of various components and strategies for the quality of life assessment also will be made (in particular, methods for standardized assessment of the importance of different life domains, individualized methods, methods based on regression analysis, etc.). Mediating and moderating functions of various aspects of the attitude to life and components of the personality potential will be revealed in relation to the connection between objective living conditions and subjective quality of life.

New diagnostic methods and methodological approaches will be developed and adapted.

Expected project results:

2018

  • Review of modern approaches to subjective-psychological indicators of quality of life, systematization of diagnostic targets and methodological tools, construction of the integrative model of individual personality variables mediating the quality of life.
  • Printed publications (1 article in Web of Science / Scopus, 2 articles in Russian Science Citation Index).

2019

  • Generalization and systematization of diagnostic methods, beginning of empirical research.
  • Publications concerned methodical tools and partly about empirical research (1 article in Web of Science / Scopus, 4 articles in Russian Science Citation Index).

2020

  • Data processing and analysis on empirical research and preparation of publications, a summary of results obtained on the project (3 articles in Web of Science / Scopus, 4 articles in Russian Science Citation Index).
