A new recreation area will be created for Tomsk residents on the bank of the Ushayka River

Tomsk Volunteer Movement «Common House» will arrange a recreation area on the bank of the Ushayka River near the «Izumrudnyi Gorod» shopping center. The new public space will be made using natural materials.

Improvement will take place on the bank of the Ushayka River near the «Izumrudnyi Gorod» shopping center — the territory between the pedestrian bridge from Novo-Kievskaya Street and Komsomolsky Avenue.

The «Common House» volunteers came up with the idea of creating a public space during the Saturday clean-up at this place. The concept of the new recreation center for citizens should guarantee the most natural transformation of the space using natural materials, forms and colors.

Volunteers of the Center for Urban Environment Development of the Tomsk region have been engaged in the project development under the guidance of architects. The volunteers have analyzed the territory and developed a functional zoning plan.

«During the placemaking on the bank of the Ushaika River, the following spaces will appear: a volleyball field, a tribune, organized places for bonfires, an art object, information stands with space navigation, graffiti, a viewing platform and other objects», — representatives of the Center reported.

The project will be implemented by the «Common House» movement involving volunteers and sponsors.
