In Krasnodar the concept of improvement for Cossack Glory Park has been presented

In Krasnodar, the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning has developed an improvement concept of Cossack Glory Park.

Chief Architect of the city Natalia Mashtalir has presented the project of improvement of the park at the administrative session.

Cossack Glory Park is the main recreation place for the residents of the settlement and a landmark for the history of Krasnodar. We can see it in the painting “Zaporozhian Cossacks write a letter to the Turkish sultan” by Ilya Repin.

Natalia Mashtalir noted that the analysis of the territory conducted by experts showed such problems as lack of identity and poor improvement in the only Cossack park.

Initially, according to Mashtalir, the Department prepared three stylistically different designs. They were presented to the residents of the neighborhood. Feedback and suggestions were collected through online voting. In particular, citizens noted the mandatory presence of a playground on the territory of the children’s playground, as well as a fountain and attributes of the Cossacks.

According to the developed concept of landscaping, in addition to the playground on the territory of the park, the first in Krasnodar Cossacks’ platform for competitions will be built, where a pole for climbing, a rack for cutting ropes, power system, projectile-breaker and amphitheater will be placed.

“The Cossacks asked us to restore the historical fence. The thing is that it had some hard luck, it was moved around many times and eventually taken out of the village. We found photographs and fully restored the openwork drawing of this artistic fence”, Mashtalir said.

It is planned that the area of the park will be separated by a pergola in the form of a fortress wall from the area where Cossack parades will be held in the future.

“The concept of the square has turned out to be unusual, interesting and helpful in solving the problems”, concluded the chief architect.
