The “Barefoot Walking Trail” has appeared in “Losiny Ostrov” (“Elk Island”) National Park

The “Barefoot Walking Trail” has been laid in “Losiny Ostrov” (“Elk Island”) National Park near Moscow. It is 3 kilometres and 600 metres long. The Trail has 43 different zones. They are covered with sand, pine bark, sea pebbles, keramsite, boulders, cones, etc. There are obstacles in the form of logs, ladders and streams along the way.

The alternating tactile surfaces have a positive effect on the feet and give a complete feeling of immersion in a world of pure and wild nature.

«For each section of the trail, there is a marker that tells the visitor which section awaits them next, the rules of conduct on it and a few interesting facts about its health effects», — says the “Ecotourism in Russia” page.

According to the organizers of the project, walking in such terrain can improve a person’s physical endurance and psychological well-being.
